When people hear "funding application," they usually imagine piles of paperwork, tax returns, and intrusive questions about their spending habits. World Legal Funding is different.
We have stripped away the bureaucracy. Because we are funding your case and not you personally, our requirements are minimal. We don't care if you are currently unemployed or if you have maxed-out credit cards. We look for three specific criteria to approve your request.
Requirement 1: You Must Have an Active Claim
First, you must have a valid legal claim involving personal injury or damages. This could be a car accident, a slip and fall, a workplace injury, or a medical malpractice suit.
Requirement 2: You Must Have an Attorney
This is non-negotiable. We cannot fund plaintiffs who are representing themselves (pro se). We need to work directly with a law firm to review the case details and ensure the repayment is handled correctly at the end of the settlement. Having an attorney also signals to us that your case is serious enough to pursue.
Requirement 3: Strong Liability (Merit)
Finally, we need to see that the other party is clearly at fault (liability) and that there is a high likelihood of a settlement. Our underwriters will review the police report or incident details with your lawyer.
If you have these three things—an injury, a lawyer, and a strong case—you are 95% of the way to getting funded. It really is that simple.
